But on the other hand we have a muddled production with choppy editing, sloppy directing, and poor sound mixing that prevents this comedic movie from aging with the greats like Raw, Live on the Sunset Strip, and Himself. On one hand you have another great hour of comedy from one of the better stand-up comics in the business today. Kevin Hart's Let Me Explain is an interesting conundrum. (If you enjoyed this review, perhaps you'd consider checking out my humble little page. "Let Me Explain" scores a 8 out of 10 on the BDBOS. And there's a pretty touching moment at the end, where the idea of being one of the very few comics to headline at MSG both humbles him and gets him emotional. But it's definitely better than "Laugh At My Pain", and had me cry-laughing at one point it's pretty damn good. This is still short an hour and a half, tops. So now we get to "Let Me Explain", which covers his latest tour that hit Madison Square Garden.

Don't get me wrong, it was still funny, but it fell short of the standards that we came to expect. They tried to fill in some extra time by throwing in a produced short at the end of it, featuring Hart and his friends, but it didn't do much to improve the overall flick. And, by movie standards, it was short – it clocked in at just over an hour.

#Youtube kevin hart laugh at my pain cracked
(he cracked 1.1 millions in sales for the two-day live set at the Nokia Theater in L.A.) Here's where it gets a little funky."Laugh At My Pain" wasn't as good as his first two specials. The movie covered his 2011 tour of the same name, in which he broke a record held by Eddie Murphy for ticket sales over a two-day period by an African-American comedian. Then came his first theater release, "Laugh At My Pain", which hit theaters last year. Again, if it was eligible, it would have been a 4.5 out of 5. It's hard to top your first time out when you completely crush it like that, but he came damn close. "Seriously Funny" was his second stand-up special, in 2010. It was never a theater release, so it's not BDBOS eligible, but if it was, it would have easily been a 5 out of 5. It's one of the few stand-up specials that you could go back and watch time and time again, and still laugh just as hard as the first time. Not counting his half-hour special on Comedy Central, "I'm A Grown Little Man" was Hart's first big stand-up special, back in 2009.

It would be alright, as a rental, if you are a fan, otherwise, I would wait until it hits cable t.v.īefore I get into this "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" review, I feel like I should get into the history of Kevin Hart for a second. It is rated "R" for language and sexual references and has a running time of 1 hour & 15 minutes. But, there were other people in the theater that laughed more than I did. I like him better in movies, where he is acting. I thought his stand up was amusing-mostly about relationships-but not laugh-out-loud funny. The rest of the movie, he is shown at Madison Square Garden, New York, performing to a sold out crowd-It is mentioned that he is in rare company of being only the second comedian to perform there-they did not mention the first. Clips are shown of Kevin performing in other countries such as Sweden, The Netherlands, Canada and England, all to sold out crowds. Kevin gets so angry that he tells his agent, who luckily is also at the party, that he needs to book Madison Square Garden right now, so he can explain his side of things. One fan even accuses Kevin of being a LAB, which stands for 'Local-Ass-Bitch' and it refers to where he performs his stand up-they are saying he has never been out of the country. Some of the fans start getting on his nerves by saying things that they say Kevin said-he denies it-and accusing him of doing things that he says he didn't. It starts with Kevin at a party with friends and fans. This is a documentary about Kevin Hart doing his stand up comedy act. I saw "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain", starring Kevin Hart-Think Like a Man, Death at a Funeral.
